17-05-09 Day 31

Farmington, MO - Rest Day

As we walked today through town we discussed the importance of the Cheryl Kay Foundation and what it means to the individuals touched by the services that are provided.  Just a nudge from our part to please check out the website and consider a monetary gift to assist those in need to be comfortable as they face adversity each day.  This is a dual purpose foundation that focuses on women of any age with breast cancer and older adults in financial need. Please give a gift today.

If you've been following our daily progress and itinerary you'll notice we should have traveled to Murphysboro, IL today. Well given our last eight days of riding, especially through the Ozark's yesterday, we opted for a day of rest. A beauteous day in Farmington, but a bit on the warm side. Summer weather is in the air. We accomplished numerous items on our check list: bikes maintenanced, sleeping arrangements for the next few days, and a full day of recuperation. It may sound trivial, but great strides for Randy and Karen. On the down time Karen was able to get her hair cut at Synergy Hair Salon and Spa in town.  With the nice weather we walked in town and to the cycle shop to pick up bikes.

Stopped on walk to the bike shop, Lix Frozen Custard for a lunch
time snack. Check out the big Custard cone.

Special thanks to LT at Trans Am Cyclery for the
quick turn around on maintaining our bikes.
The new chains work great as well as the shifting adjustments.
Ready to ride a 1000 more miles.
Speedy recovery from your recent surgery.
